Microsoft Teams is central to daily communications, meetings, and collaboration, getting constant attention across all departments and levels of an organization. You can integrate the uStudio app experience directly into Teams to enrich the work that is being done within the application every day.
In a Teams Channel, you have the opportunity to add the uStudio app as a Tab that is found directly above the chat. This tab acts as a portal to the entire uStudio app, with any entry point that is relevant for that specific channel, whether it be the Browse screen to help Team Members discover content, or directly to a relevant show or episode. Simply click play and enjoy an episode, conveniently within Teams!
As Team Members navigate in uStudio within Teams, they will only have access to the content they are permitted to see via uStudio Group controls, so there is no concern about information spreading outside of the need-to-know sphere.
If a user has not yet logged into uStudio on their device, they will have to authenticate with their username and password. For those already logged in on their current device, it will automatically bring them to the page in uStudio dictated by the Teams configuration. In this case, it’s good practice to link directly to a show or episode relevant to the specific channel the tab was added in.
To add uStudio into your Teams, follow these steps:
- Access Microsoft Teams and navigate to a channel that you’d like to add a uStudio tab.
- Click the “+” button next to the channel name.
Permission to add/remove tabs is dependent upon the settings in the team. If you do not have access to add a tab, please contact your Teams Administrator for support.
- Select the “Website” option from the list or search for it.
- Change the tab name to a title that will be easy for the team members to understand, such as: Podcasts, uStudio, or The Training Podcast
- Insert the URL with your organization’s company code appended to the end, such as: https:podcast-web.ustudio.com/[COMPANYCODE]. If you do not know the company code, you can find it in the URL when you are signed into the desktop app.
You can also link directly to a specific show that might be most relevant for the topic of the channel. To obtain the URL, login to the desktop app, navigate to the desired show, and copy the URL from that location. - After clicking save, the uStudio platform will be accessible through the tab added in Microsoft Teams under the selected Tab name.
The entire uStudio desktop app is now easily accessible through Teams. When a user navigates to the tab for the first time, they will authenticate with their standard uStudio credentials or SSO connection. After authentication, audience members will be greeted with their familiar uStudio desktop app experience.
Note: If using Okta as your IdP, you'll need to configure Okta to allow iFrame embedding. If not enabled, you'll run into an error on Microsoft Teams web version.
