What is a Category?
A category is an optional feature that can be used to group shows together to allow them to be easily discovered by audience members. In the mobile and desktop applications, audience members will see the category name and list of associated shows. A show may be added to one or more categories, or no categories at all.
Categories can be leveraged to organize shows in any method that fits your company’s needs. Create categories to group shows by popularity, location, topic, etc. to give audience members another way to discover and find shows.
We recommend using categories when a Studio has 10 or more shows.
If configured, here are examples of how Categories will look for audience members in the mobile and desktop app.
Note: By default, the Browse tab of the desktop application will open to a list of all shows, allowing the audience member to filter by category. If you would prefer for your audience members to initially be presented with a specific category when arriving at the Browse tab (which is the first page they see when they log in), please contact support@ustudio.com and we will help you configure the application to open to a specific category.
