WHAT’S NEW FOR YOUR AUDIENCE |
|
Read Along on Mobile
Elevate your team's learning with Read Along, our new feature that synchronizes transcripts with audio playback by highlighting words as they are spoken. This multi-sensory approach is known to boost comprehension and retention. Starting April 2025, all episodes will be transcribed upon upload, automatically enabling Read Along in your app experience. Until then, admins may activate Read Along manually by generating transcripts or uploading your own in Hub.

Search Updates
Users searching for content will see that the app now handles partial word matches. As your library grows, search becomes more important for content discoverability. We want users to find the most relevant content with the least amount of friction..
|
Mobile Player Design
We continue to improve our player design. We’ve enlarged buttons and created a taller scrub bar to make navigating through content a breeze. We’re using color and information section blocks to give your audience more to engage with and an option to save for later without having to exit the player.
|
Intuitive Icons
We continue to evolve in-app icons. The 'Add to Playlist' icon has gone from a plus sign to a more intuitive list image. Feedback now shows a thumbs up/down icon to make it clearer that users can provide feedback. Additionally, the follow and notification functions are now unified into a single bell icon for simplicity.

Autocast Voice Improvements
Transform written materials into high-quality audio effortlessly with Autocast, an invaluable resource for expanding and diversifying your content library–which is a key factor for earning regular, returning users. We've recently upgraded Autocast to include more natural-sounding voices, elevating the user experience. This improvement makes Autocast an even more compelling tool for engaging your audience and enriching your content strategy.
|
User Status Summary
The activated user count has moved from the Dashboard to the Users tab, and we’ve added summary cards for each status. Now, administrators can see user information in a single location, improving visibility, simplifying management and setting us up for future permission sets.
|
Dashboard Tooltips
Your Dashboard now has tooltips on the screen to clarify the purpose of each section and to answer some of the most commonly asked questions. You’ll see a brief definition of each metric along with links to in-depth knowledge articles for those who want to explore more details.
|
Digest Emails
We’ve listened to your feedback about wanting more notifications, and the data backs it up: consistent email reminders are key to boosting audience adoption. Previously, digest emails were only sent when new content was published within the week or month, leading to inconsistent communications during slower publishing periods like summer or the holidays. Now, they will consistently highlight the ten most recently published pieces of content every week and month, ensuring your audience remains informed and connected regardless of publishing schedule.
|
QR Codes in More Places
The episode page and digest emails now feature QR codes when accessed on desktop, providing a seamless way for users to start or switch playback to their mobile devices. QR codes not only simplify the transition between desktop and mobile, but also boost awareness of the mobile app, reinforcing the audience's ability to stream content anywhere, anytime.
|
Read Along on the Desktop
The Read Along feature will extend to desktop in the coming weeks.
|
Save for Later
To accommodate busy schedules and personal workflows, our upcoming Save for Later feature will enable audience members to create a list of content they plan to stream. They will receive email notifications later, reminding them to dive into their saved content, ensuring they never miss out on valuable learning opportunities.
|
Auto-transcription Upon Upload
Starting in April 2025, uStudio will automatically generate a transcript for every new piece of content uploaded. This automation will activate the Read Along feature for each new episode, enriching your content library. Please note, automatically generated transcripts can be edited or replaced to ensure accuracy.
