What video formats does uStudio support?

uStudio's adaptable video platform Hub keeps up with rapidly-evolving video industry standards - so you don't have to.

uStudio wants your online video quality to be as good as possible while allowing manageable file sizes. To this end, for most videos, we suggest using the "Apple TV" video specifications:
 

EDIT SYSTEM PREFERRED EXPORT FORMATS:
From Final Cut Pro®:  Export using “Apple TV®” for a visually high quality but 
compact file. The “Apple TV” preset can be found in the “Share” dropdown menu 
when choosing “Apple Devices…” in FCP X and inside of Mac’s Compressor program for 
older versions of FCP.
 

From Adobe Premiere: Select any option that is H.264 HD with stereo audio. 
 
From Avid®: Export with the following settings: H264 / One-Pass / Limit Data Rate to 
5000 kbits/ps / AAC 256 kbits/ps / Size 1280x720, use file extension .m4v.

If your media is not in the above suggested format please ensure that your format and container is supported below:

• MP4 (note: MP4-Visual is not supported)
• AVI

Please note: uStudio currently allows video files up to 8GB.

The following formats are currently not accepted: Cineform (GoPro cameras), Apple Intermediate Codec, Animation Codec, MP4-Visual, AAC-LD audio.
