Here's the run-down on stats captured and displayed within uStudio.
uStudio has a powerful system for reporting video viewership statistics, so customers can make informed decisions about video investments. Since different destination types report viewership in different ways, uStudio normalizes the data to make it all comparable in our statistics dashboards.
- When a potential viewer encounters your video as presented in its player, that's counted as an Impression. If the viewer refreshes the page with the embedded video, that is counted as another impression.
- Once playback begins, uStudio tracks this as a View. Different platforms may have different definitions of what constitutes a view (some set a minimum number of seconds, others a minimum %), but as described above, uStudio logs this as soon as the video starts playing.
- Engagement measures how much of your content was consumed by tracking when viewers cross thresholds set at 10% intervals. If a viewer crosses the 70% point in the video, then goes back and re-watches from the 70% point, that is logged as two 70% engagements. When a video reaches the end, it is logged as a 100% engagement.

Since an impression is logged when a webpage or application loads a video player embedded into it, you can expect video impressions to track with page visits during the selected reporting period. Divide views by impressions to find out the percentage of viewers who are actively clicking the play button.
As an example, let's say 100 people visit a webpage; you can expect all 100 to be logged as an impression of your video - as long as your player isn't too far down the page.
Note: Impressions are only available for uStudio players. Other destinations, e.g., YouTube, Facebook, iTunes, etc., do not report this information to uStudio.
Views by video:
Views by video is a measure of how many times each video has been played in the selected reporting timeframe. A video with no plays in the timeframe will not appear on the dashboard.
Note: YouTube does report views once an hour to uStudio, but not Impressions or Engagements. Other destinations, e.g., Facebook, iTunes, etc., do not report this information to uStudio

Views by destinations show you which video players or destinations are driving the most views.
Engagement is illustrated in a bar chart with 10% engagement increments for your aggregate audience. 100% of the audience that clicked the play button starts at the beginning of the video, and when streaming discontinues for a given audience member (whether because the viewer hits "pause" or clicks away to another webpage or loses their network connection), this audience member won't be reflected in the next increment of engagement.
To complete the example above, let's say 70 people begin a 3-minute video, but only 81% of these viewers make it all the way through. That means 57 people consumed all your content. If there was an important message (for example, a promotional offer price) presented 50% of the way through the video, you might also look at the 60% increment stat and see that 84% of viewers made it that far, which means ~59 people heard your offer.
