uStudio will only allow audience with access to your podcast application and with the correct group permissions to access content shared by other audience members. There are two scenarios that happen based on the user's access to the application. Below are the two possible flows a user might encounter if they click on a shared link they do not have access to.
The user does not have permission to access the application:
Example: Audience member shares an episode link to someone outside of your company:
- Audience member A who has access to an episode shares the episode via the share functionality to Audience member B, who does not have access to the application.
- Audience member B will get the share link via email or text depending on how the user shared the episode. They will click on the link.
- The link will take Audience member B to a page asking them to download the uStudio application to access the content.
- They download the uStudio application and open it. At this point, they should not know the company code to access your version of the application and might come to a stopping point here.
- If Audience member B does know the company code they will be taken to the login screen. However, they do not have a login so cannot gain access to the application.
The user has access to the application but is not in the group that allows them to see the show the episode is a part of.
Example: The episode shared is restricted to managers that have been assigned to a manager group in uStudio. The user who is accessing the share link is not a manager and not a part of that group.
- Audience member A who has access to an episode shares the episode via the share functionality to Audience member C, who has access to the application but not the episode.
- Audience member C will get the share link via email or text depending on how the user shared the episode. They will click on the link.
- The link will take Audience member C to a page asking them to download the uStudio application to access the content if they have not already downloaded the app. If they have downloaded the app they will be taken to the application upon clicking the link.
- Audience member C will log in to the application and will be given a message letting them know this content is restricted.
