Accessing Promotional Embeds
Discovery links, aka Promotional Embeds, allow podcast administrators to promote their podcast episodes with a visually appealing preview of the episode. Clicking anywhere on the promotional embed will direct the user to the podcast mobile app or podcast web app, depending on what device they are using.
To access the promotional embeds, follow these steps:
- Navigate to a published Episode within the PMC
- Click on the chain link icon next to the Episode
- That will open a modal to get a direct sharing link to the episode
- There is now a second tab for "Promotional Embed" that gives you the code to embed a Discovery Link in any website
- Please note - If your app is accessed via SSO, any shared link will only work if shared with and opened by an authorized user of your app
Ways to Incorporate Promotional Embeds
Unfortunately, you might encounter some systems that do not support our promotional embeds. Lucky for you, there are still great ways to incorporate these visuals into your promotional efforts to make sure your content is getting the traction it deserves. Many of our clients enjoy taking a screen capture of the particular promotional embed and hyperlinking the episode's share link to that image. You can learn more about accessing share links for promotional materials in this article below.
Examples of where you can include this "workaround" version of our promotional embeds include email, calendar invites and any other digital communication that can't handle embeds.
How to Include in Email
- Access the promotional embed for the published podcast episode. These steps are listed in the first section of this article.
- Take a screen shot of the promotional embed preview.
- Click on the "Sharing Link" tab. You will need to copy this link for later use.
- In your email system, click on the "Insert Photo" icon to insert the screenshot of the promotional embed.
- Highlight the screenshot by clicking and dragging your cursor over it. You must highlight the image instead of just clicking in order to hyperlink the image properly.
- Select the "Insert Link" icon at the bottom of the window.
- Paste the episode share link you copied from the PMC.
- Your promotional embed screenshot should now be hyperlinked. You should now have an example of a promotional workaround that you can include in email announcements.
