We’re making updates to simplify and streamline the process of incorporating subtitles into your players.
Previously, subtitle functionality required a separate Subtitle player theme and module. Moving forward, we’ve integrated this functionality directly into the uStudio default theme, eliminating extra steps and making it easier to manage.
What This Means for You:
- Automatic Update: Later in Q2 2025, any existing destinations using the Subtitle theme will seamlessly transition to the uStudio default theme—no action required.
- Easier Player Creation: When using the Player Builder, the Subtitle theme will no longer be an option. Simply select the uStudio default theme to get full subtitle functionality.
- No Extra Module Needed: Subtitles now work natively, so you no longer need to add the Subtitle module for them to display properly.
- Creating Custom Themes? We now have text tracks as a component which you can utilize to add Closed Captions and Subtitles.
