Podcast v1.36 Release Notes

To facilitate a more effective and efficient way to reach your employees, clients, customers and partners, uStudio presents its Enterprise Podcast. From important security features and UI and UX improvements to a better internal content sharing experience, the release notes detailed below offer a condensed description of enhancements, modifications and new features. Use these notes to prepare for success across your organization.

New Features

This version includes the following new features:

1. Playlist on Mobile
   
   
   1. Summary: Playlist feature available for use in our iOS and Android mobile applications by request only. Please reach out to our Support team to have the feature enabled for your organization.
      
      
   2. Impacted Users: All audience members using the iOS or Android mobile applications once the feature has been enabled.
      
      
   3. Change: Audience members now have the ability to save their favorite Episodes to a personal Playlist on their mobile devices.

      While browsing through available content, an Episode can be saved to the Playlist by clicking the new + button in the Episode row, or opening the action menu for that Episode and selecting “Add to Playlist”.

      In the new Playlist view, located under My Library alongside any followed Shows and the Unplayed Episodes list, each audience member will be able to manage their Playlist by adding, reordering, and removing Episodes as they see fit.

      Additionally, playback initiated in the Playlist view will continue to play through the other Episodes in the Playlist. This allows users to queue up the content that’s most meaningful to them.

      

2. Push Notification Enhancements (1 of 2)
   1. Summary: When an audience member follows a Show, ask for permission to send push notifications.
      
      
   2. Impacted Users: Audience members that have not enabled push notification permissions for the uStudio Enterprise Podcast mobile application (iOS + Android).
      
      
   3. Change: A new prompt will request permission from the audience member each time they Follow a show in the mobile application. Additionally, the prompt language has been updated to further clarify that permission to send push notifications must be granted in order to take full advantage of the Follow feature. Users will still receive a prompt to enable permissions during the initial installation of the iOS or Android app, and can do so directly from the prompt.

      

3. Push Notification Enhancements (2 of 2)
   1. Summary: A link to the mobile OS notification settings screen has been added to the uStudio app settings screen.
      
      
   2. Impacted Users: Audience members using the iOS or Android mobile application.
      
      
   3. Change: “Go to Settings” link has been added to the uStudio Enterprise Podcast app Settings screen. This can be found by opening the menu at the top right of the application screen and tapping Settings. If you have not previously enabled your OS-level permissions for the uStudio app to send push notifications, you can do so at any time by following this link.

      

4. Bell Icon added to the Follow button
   1. Summary: Follow button redesign.
      
      
   2. Impacted Users: All audience members using the iOS or Android mobile applications. All audience members using the desktop or mobile web application.
      
      
   3. Change: A bell icon has been added to the Follow button, further indicating that Following a show will result in the user receiving email and/or push notifications.

      

5. Issues/Bugs Addressed

   This version addresses the following issues from prior versions:

   1. Badge number is not displayed properly with more than 2 digits in MyLibrary tab.
   2. Podcast error is displayed after returning to online mode.
   3. “Episodes not Available” error in Offline mode.
   4. Update mobile app minimum Android SDK version.
   5. Share link sometimes lands on blank page.
   6. Audio Podcast poster image sizing incorrect.
   7. Unplayed List badge numbering will not display 3 or more characters.
   8. Invalid Email Address will prevent Email Notifications from being sent.
   9. Push/Email Notifications might not be sent if content has no poster image.
   10. Errors navigating from Offline to Online modes.
   11. Users being logged out.
6. Known Issues
   1. Badge Number may not display correctly on the uStudio Enterprise Podcast mobile app icon if the user uninstalls and then reinstalls the app (POD-1703).
