Are you encountering long links or links that don't conform with your brand identity? Continue to read this article to learn how you can create your own short-branded links and QRCodes to mask those strange links. We'll even discuss how you can implement this idea with some of our URLs.
Service providers like URLgenius and Bitly offer a premium solution to create and manage custom links and QRCodes. Both URLgenius and Bitly offer short-links that can be set to your company's domain name. They also have QRCodes that can be customized with your company's logo and color scheme.
We're now going to focus on creating a dynamic QRCode with URLgenius that attempts to open or install our mobile application, uStudio Enterprise Podcast on a user's iOS or Android device, but if a failure occurs, our web application will be opened in a browser. You can use whatever service provider you'd like to achieve this dynamic QRCode and also easily create a short-link by using these services' feature.
Step 1: Using URLgenius' QRCode generator, set the Deep Link Address with a custom link that contains your company's domain.
Step 2: Set the Fallback URL to https://podcast-web.ustudio.com. This will route the user to our web application if they do not have uStudio Enterprise Podcast installed on their compatible device.
Step 3: Under iPhone Routing, set https://companycode.podcast-links.ustudio.com where it says "When app is installed, send to:" This link will open our mobile application, uStudio Enterprise Podcast if installed on a compatible device. Note: companycode should be replaced with your Company's Code in lowercase format.
Step 4: Under iPhone Routing, set https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/ustudio-enterprise-podcast/id1367504991?mt=8 where it says "When app is NOT installed, send to:" This link will route the user to the Apple Store to install our mobile application, uStudio Enterprise Podcast.
Step 5: Under Android Phone Routing, set https://companycode.podcast-links.ustudio.com where it says "When app is installed, send to:" This link will open our mobile application, uStudio Enterprise Podcast if installed on a compatible device. Note: companycode should be replaced with your Company's Code in lowercase format.
Step 6: Under Android Phone Routing, set https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ustudiopodcast where it says "When app is NOT installed, send to:" This link will route the user to the Google Play store to install our mobile application, uStudio Enterprise Podcast.
Step 7: Share your QRCode! It's at the top of the page.
Now that you know how to create a dynamic QRCode, feel free to create static QRCodes or branded short-links to just one of these links above if you want a simpler experience. If you prefer cheaper static QRCodes, check out QR Stuff or QR Tiger. You can even mask our episode Sharelinks or link to a show: https://podcast-web.ustudio.com/COMPANY_CODE/shows/SHOW_UID where COMPANY_CODE is your company's code in uppercase and SHOW_UID is the id of show that appears within the URL when on a show's page in our web application.
