uStudio Labs is our early access program for new ideas, evolving capabilities, and future product directions.
Labs gives customers the opportunity to explore and influence experiences before they become fully supported uStudio products. Participation is always optional and designed for organizations interested in collaboration, innovation, and helping shape what comes next.
Not every Labs initiative is intended to become a permanent product. Some are designed to explore broad concepts, while others focus on refining a promising solution. In both cases, customer feedback plays an important role in guiding future direction.
How uStudio Labs Works
All Labs offerings are released as prototypes. These prototypes allow us to learn quickly, validate ideas with real users, and better understand how new capabilities fit into customer workflows.
Because Labs experiences are still evolving:
- Features and functionality may change over time
- Capabilities may be added, refined, or removed
- Labs offerings are not covered by standard SLAs
- Labs experiences are best suited for exploration, testing, and feedback rather than business-critical workflows
Our goal is to create a collaborative environment where customers can help influence future product direction while gaining early access to emerging ideas.
Two Types of Learning
At uStudio Labs, not all prototypes are created for the same purpose.
Some prototypes help us explore new possibilities and determine what problems are worth solving. Others help us refine a specific solution and understand how it should evolve.
That's why we classify Labs experiences into two categories:
Prototype Type |
Key Question |
|---|---|
Concept Car |
What should we build? |
Early Iteration |
How should we build this? |
Concept Cars
What should we build?
Concept Cars are designed to explore possibilities.
They help us test new ideas, workflows, and approaches before we've committed to a specific product direction. A Concept Car may combine multiple concepts into a single experience, allowing us to gather feedback about what resonates most with customers.
The goal is not to perfect a solution. The goal is to learn which opportunities are worth pursuing.
Your feedback helps us answer questions such as:
- Is this a meaningful problem to solve?
- Which ideas provide the most value?
- Which concepts should move forward into deeper development?
Concept Cars prioritize learning, discovery, and exploration.
Early Iterations
How should we build this?
Early Iterations are focused prototypes built around a specific idea that shows promise.
At this stage, we've moved beyond exploring the opportunity and are focused on refining the experience. The goal is to validate workflows, understand customer needs more deeply, and determine how the solution should evolve.
An Early Iteration does not represent a final product. It is an opportunity to test assumptions, gather feedback, and improve the experience through real-world use.
Your feedback helps us answer questions such as:
- Does this solve the problem effectively?
- Which capabilities are most valuable?
- What improvements would make the experience more useful?
- What would be required for broader adoption?
Early Iterations prioritize refinement, validation, and learning.
Shaping the Future Together
Some Labs initiatives may eventually become fully supported uStudio products. Others may evolve in a different direction or conclude after valuable learnings are gathered. In every case, uStudio Labs helps us make more informed product decisions grounded in real customer needs and workflows.
